MAY 26, 2006 REFERRAL DAY

What a day this was. We knew we already loved this little girl, but had no idea what she looked like. We waited for our agency to call us to let us know that they were looking at her picture and that we would see it as soon as they scanned it. They began to tell us all about her. All of our dreams came true when we got to see this precious little girl. She was so beautiful. Everything that we had asked God for. Happy Referral Day Li Li Qun (Talicee Faith LiLi Landes). We love you to the moon and back and more.
This picture says it all (would love to have it)
What a difference 7 years makes.  She still has those beautiful lips and her hair is just a black but much longer.  What a firecracker she is.  She loves life to the fullest.  Loves to draw and is quiet good at it.  Her hand writing is something else for a 7 year old.  Loves dance, cheerleading and gymnastics.  But most of all she loves her brothers more than anything.  She cries when they leave.  God had this little girl picked out for us long before we knew it.  She is a perfect fit for our family.  I can not believe that 7 years has already past since the first day we laid eyes on her.  Looking forward to spending many years with her and learning along the way.

We love you Talicee Faith LiLi Landes

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
In a far away land a mother sits and wonders where her little girl is on this special day. She cries for her everyday. Her heart mourns for the child that is no longer in her arms. I pray everyday that this mother knows that her child is loved more than anything on this earth. She is loved, cared for and is a joy to our family. My heart hurts for her because I know deep down inside of me that she loves this child more than anything. Where ever you maybe, please know that your child is a child of God. We will always love her to the moon and back. We wish you a very Happy Mother's Day. God will bring you peace. Thank you for the wonderful gift.

VISITORS AND VISITING

This weekend we made the trip to Harrisonburg to visit Randy's parents. His mom had surgery about 3 weeks ago and we needed to visit. Well, this area was expecting the snow like our area. Of course, they got it. Over 13 inches of snow. It was so beautiful on the mountains as we headed in. I kept saying, I need to get a picture of this. Well, on Sunday I finally got a picture of the mountains. Breath taking. While there was snow on the mountains, the temp was 65 degrees. I sat by the pool in the sun and read a book. Most of you know that our life has taken a ferris wheel circle. Being a single parent during the week has taken everything that I have got. I get the kids up in the morning, I take them to school. I get them from school, I take them to what ever they are doing that day. I bath and feed them. When 8:00 or later rolls around, I am putting kids in the bed and heading there myself. So reading a book was great joy for me this weekend. And by the pool in the month of March was wonderful. I needed this relaxation. Thank God for the great weather. The one picture of Talicee is with Flat Stanley. He is visiting with us this week. One of Talicee's Hubei sisters is doing a project about Flat Stanley. She lives in CA. So Flat Stanley has visited Hong Kong, New Mexico and now Virginia. The beginning of next week he will take off again for another state or country. We are waiting on his travel plans now. We have a lot in store for him this week. Today he rode to school with us. Tomorrow he will go to Trevor's first track meet and then to dance with us. He will get to play with the children I keep too. You never know what he will do in our household and our life. The picture of Talicee with her doll was taken back in February. She was playing one day and came downstairs and had dressed herself just like her doll. She is so creative. I am very behind on my blogging. But it feels good to be able to just type away like I am doing now. I have missed it. Maybe I can find some more time to blog. Hope I still have readers out there.

MAY BE OUR LAST SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON

We were expecting to get about 6/8 inches of snow. Started out as rain and then by 8:30 p.m. it was snow. It was still snowing when I got up. I knew it would be another snow day for the kids. We got about 4 inches here at my house, but down off the mountain, they got none. There was no signs of any snow anywhere when we went out to dance that night. I guess living on the mountain pays off sometimes. I had prepared for the worse. It was suppose to be a heavy snow. They were calling for power outages. Well, you know that meant we would be the first to go. I collected water in everything I could find. I filled the bathtubs with water. I made sure we had batteries and candles. We had plenty of wood for the stove. Well guess what, the power never flickered one time. If I had not done all of this, then we would have lost it the minute it snowed. Oh well, better to be prepared than not. The snow has been nice. Comes and goes quickly. The kids have enjoyed their breaks. But it is so nice to be able to open up the door and see buds on the trees, flowers popping up and the birds singing. SPRING is my favorite time of the year. The beginning of new.

2ND SNOWFALL OF THE YEAR

Well, even though we have missed school a lot this year, we have not had that much snow. These are some pics I took of the end snowfall. The one thing about this snowfall is that it comes and goes in the same day. But the kids enjoy getting out and playing in it.

UPWARDS CAME AND WENT

We started practice in December and ended the season this Saturday. Once again we had a great year. Sure wished that my boys would have had a chance to play in this league. Talicee has learned so much. She is very confident in her jumps and as you can see they learned to do a stunt. I told her she would probably be on the top all of the time because she is so little. She enjoyed it so much. She is making friends everywhere she goes. Just wished I could slow time down.
