REMEMBER WHEN..........................
Badly sprained June 26, 2007
Broken as of Sept. 5, 2007

Remember June 26, 2007. We had been on vacation one day. I had badly sprain my ankle according to the emergency room. Well, everyone told me, even the Dr. that it would take some time for the sprain to completely heal. A month went by and I was still hurting and wearing my brace. I figured that I was just being a wimp and decided, on my own, to take my brace off August 1st. I was getting too used to it, like the pain pills they give you.
Tyler had a football game the middle of August. To get to the field, you have to walk down 800 steps(just kidding), it is a lot of steps. I walked down then and then back up them without my brace. I was so proud I could walk like a normal person. Saturday morning came and I could not get out of bed. My ankle was about 4 times the size it is suppose to be. I just figured that walking up that many steps really put a hurt on me. I have steps at home, but have learned not to put pressure on my foot when walking. I put my brace back on and continued on. The pain was still there. So I got a Dr.'s appointment. More x-rays and still not answer. So off to the orthopedic I went. I had an appointment yesterday. I went in with a brace and came out with a cast. YES, it is broken. I have been walking on a broken ankle for 2 months. According to the Dr., if I had not been wearing my brace, I would be in worse shape than I am now. I am in the HUGE cast for 4 weeks and then therapy for who knows how long. I am not a Dr. person, so I don't go to the Dr. unless I am dying. I was at this point. I am glad I did go. This cast just limits me, with 4 children, on the things I can do. Yesterday my ankle was hurting really bad because it is not moving at all. Today it is not any better. I guess I will break down and take my happy pills for the pain. Good thing I am not driving anywhere today. LOL I think that would be a DUI. I will spare you the details of what all is wrong. Lets just say that it is not only the side that is broke, but the other side of my ankle too. Oh well, I guess it is God's way of telling me to slow down.
Miss Talicee Having Fun

Where is TaLi?

Who could this little girl be?

She coming out

What a sweet gift to find inside

On a good note, I have added a few pictures of Miss Talicee playing in the clothes hamper while I was trying to do laundry today. I gave up on that when I just about passed out. She has to entertain herself now that the boys are in school. Enjoy.

Oh Kim! I feel so bad for you! I had my foot in a cast for 8 weeks back in 2003. It was pure torture! Try to hang in there and hopefully your boys will be as big a help as mine were. Here's a big hug for you and many wishes for a SPEEDY recovery. Lilly's mom

You poor thing sweetie. Take those happy pills. Or come back to CO for some yummy Julio margaritas. The laughter will make you forget about the pain. I hope for a speedy recovery for you.

O My Goodness! I'm so sorry for you and the pain you are in right now. I too had a nasty foot experience: 8 plantars warts surgically removed at one time and 4 weeks in a walking (ha! I use that term loosely) cast. Followed by that, I had to "retrain" my foot and leg muscles to walk correctly from all the time I'd spent favoring that foot with the pain from the warts and the recovery. NOT FUN, I know. Am going to put you on my mental prayer list to remember you and your family!

So Sorry! Hope it heals well. Wish they had found it earlier. Glad you have a good attitude. Your Hubei Hottie is as cute as always.

Just thought I would check back in and see how the foot is doing. Hope all is well or at least getting there!:)
