CHRISTMAS WEEK AT THE LANDES'
We have had another busy week. Monday was the only slow day. I did have a meeting, but other than that nothing was happening. Then the week began. We have enjoyed all of the hussle and bussle.
TUESDAY
Miss Talicee had her last Kinder Music class today. We had a Christmas party. We made a kangaroo puppet to start the party. We then listened to Christmas music and played our music instruments. Then we had a Christmas story. The final activity was our snow globes. Miss Talicee really like this. After all of the activities, we had a small party. Just the beginning of parties. Miss Talicee really enjoyed her music class.

WEDNESDAY

After the boys came home from school, we took them to the mall to see the decorations. Miss Talicee and Trevor rode the train. This is the first time that Miss Talicee had riden without mom. She loved it. She is just so silly sometimes as you can tell in the pictures. We then went upstairs and listened to the singing bears. Miss Talicee was taken back by them. She would have watched for hours. We had one more thing left to pick up for Christmas, so we went to a hunting store. This is where Miss Talicee is trying on hats. Like I said she is just so silly sometimes.

THURSDAY

Well, the day did not start as well as we had hoped for. I noticed on Wednesday night that the ice in our new frig (2001) was melting. I just figured that the boys had not gotten the door closed tight enough. So when I went to fix breakfast this morning, I noticed that everything was melted and the items in the refrig. where not really cold. Panic set in. Remembe, 2 months ago I had to buy a new dishwasher because mine caught on fire. 2 weeks ago a new washer and dryer. Then I remembered that in June after vacation, our TV went out. Didn't replace it. So I was beginning to think, God I can't take this. So Randy got on the phone and called and got a repair man out here. In the mean time, today was the last day of school. Trevor was having his Christmas party and I was helping with it. It was a morning party. Randy was suppose to go out of town. Some one had to be here for the repairman. He stayed and I went to school with Trevor. As you can tell he had a great party. He was pretty tired when he got home. The repairman came and gave us the bad/good news. The relay had gone out on the frig. nothing big, but at Christmas time, it is big. So he fixed it and we were good to go. Thank you Jesus for only a small bill.

I had class tonight. We did a small Christmas party. Boy, I love eating lowfat when you have food like this. It was a great class. I learned some new recipes too.

FRIDAY/SATURDAY

Since we do not have family here, we have to travel to see them. We left late Friday afternoon. The traffic was not to heavy. We arrived safely at our destination.

SATURDAY

Saturday morning we had breakfast at my sister's house. Everyone will bring a dish and we also bring snacky food for later. After a long nap for Miss Talicee, we headed over to my parents house. We had snacky food for lunch. Then we began the big day. The kids were all itching to get their presents. Mom is the present giver outer. The rule is that no one opens up their presents until all the presents are given out. It was so crazy, that I don't know who got what. The kids had a ball. Miss Talicee loves her bath tub baby. The boys got movies. Wonder if they trying to figure out why they got so many movies.

We then headed back over to my sister's for dinner. We had steak, baked potatoes and salad and dessert. I fell asleep on the couch after much activities. Everyone had a great day.

SUNDAY

After going to Church as a family, we headed over to Blacksburg to have a nice lunch. Last year my sister and I decided that we would treat our parents to a very nice lunch for Christmas. We fell in love with the brunch at the Inn at Virginia Tech. We once again had lunch there. This time we had a room all to our selves. Wonder why with 6 kids. And once again they out did themselves on the brunch. I think my favorite is the pumpkin soup and of course the chocolate factory. I could just stand there and dip and eat all day.

When you view the slide show you will see some Christmas Trees. These trees where decorated and displayed within the Inn. Make sure you look closely at the Garden Tree. The garland is a garden hose. All of the trees were beautiful. Then we have silly pictures of our family.

Once lunch was over, we had a few errands to run and then headed home. We needed to get ready for round 2 of the holidays.

CHRISTMAS EVE/CHRISTMAS DAY

Well, once again we are spreading the holiday cheer. After sleeping in a few extra hours, we cleaned the house and got it ready for the big day. Our church was having a candelight service at 5:00. We all got dressed up and went. It was packed, but well worth it. After that, we headed across town to one of my high school classmate's house for a Christmas party. We do this every year. It is so nice to see them and their children. Once again the food was awesome. She makes a punch that I wait all year to drink. It is sooooooo good. We stayed for about 2 hours and then headed back home. Miss Talicee was getting very tired. We have been putting her to bed about 8:00-8:30 at night. She has then been sleeping throught the night and not getting up until about 7:00.

Once we got home, we changed into our pjs and got ready for Santa. The boys know that Santa is not real, but they like to pretend. Miss Talicee and Trevor got the milk and cookies ready. Miss Talicee dropped the cookies in the floor as she was caring them to the table. Oh well, we have the 10 second rule or the 3 day rule, which ever works. LOL All 4 kids were in bed by 9:00. I think Tyler was, who knows about teenagers. Randy and I got ready for Santa.

CHRISTMAS MORNING

Well. it started early. Miss Talicee woke up at 6:30. This is how it went.

Talicee: Mommy, get up

Mom: To early Talicee, go back to sleep

Talicee: Santa my house

Mom: Santa is still sleeping

Talicee: Santa, teapot, baby, cup, bottle

So at this point, I get her up and put her in my bed. This conversation goes on for another 30 minutes. I give up. I change her and send her into Tyler's room to get him up. Randy gets the other 2 boys up. We let Miss Talicee go in the room first. She sees her baby and that is all she does for 30 minutes. In the meantime, the boys have unwrapped all of their gifts and began helping Miss Talicee. Everyone was pleased with their gifts.

Most of the day, we have done nothing. The boys watched movies on their DVD players and Miss Talicee played with her baby and baby items all day. It has been so nice not doing anything, not going anywhere and just being a family. We really needed this time together.

I fixed a nice dinner for everyone. We sang Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus and are now relaxing some more. This day was for Jesus and we celebrate his birth.

Merry Christmas from the Landes Family. Jesus is the reason for the Season.
