MAKE SURE THAT YOU READ THE PREVIOUS POST ABOUT HAWAII BEFORE THIS ONE

OUR LAST DAY IN KAUAI, HAWAII (THURSDAY)

Well, the day has come. Our vacation/business trip is coming to an end at 10:00 pm tonight. We still have a whole day ahead of us and we have a full schedule.

After an evening of just relaxing in the pool, we slept really well. Since we were already packed, we did not rush to do anything. We checked out of the hotel and headed for breakfast. We went to a little cafe on the way to the north side. It was very cozy and busy for a Thursday morning. We then headed north again. So much to do up there.

Our first stop was the light house. We had been here before but it was closed and we could not go in. Today it was open and what a sight. The view of the ocean was just awesome. We even got to see the baby birds. We headed out again to another beach. Anini Beach. To get to the beaches, you must drive about 3/5 miles to get to them. So needless to say, all roads will lead to one point. LOL This beach was beautiful. Today we could tell the waves were up. Not many people in the water, but surfers were headed out.

We had lunch at Kalypso Bar and Grille. It was in Hanalea Bay. There were little shops around, but we did not stop to shop. Randy wanted to see the waves at the beach. So we headed to the end of the island. When we arrived, there was no parking. We could not figure out way until we walked to the beach. There was a lifeguard who had marked off most of the beach. The sign said "NO SNORKELING OR SWIMMING ". The waves were 8-10 feet tall. The pictures do not tell the story of how big they are. There were no surfers at this beach. The coral would have killed them if they tried. Notice the huge tree roots. Yes they are that big.

After leaving the beach area, we notice a Botantial Garden. We decided to visit. On Monday we had visited an open air market and got to see all of the fruit and veggies that are native to Kauai. So we wanted to see what else was native. I have tons of pictures of this garden, but too many to put in a slide show. It was amazing what we saw. The view in itself was just beautiful.

Our time was going away fast. We had to be at the airport 2 hours before our flight and it was already 5:00. We still needed to have dinner. We decided we would have a nice dinner before we headed home. We stopped at the Coconut Grove Section at the north shore and had dinner at Coconuts. Our waiter was great. He gave us more history of the island.

Our time on this island has been great. We are relaxed and ready to go home and see our boys and our little girl. Out of all of our trips, this has been the best so far. I think because we actually had time to relax. Cancuun would be the next best one. Since we relaxed the whole week there.

Our next post will be about our trip home and what a story that it. We did not have to rush home since Tyler's team lost their game last Friday. So that was some pressure taken off. But we really wanted to get home. Until the next and final post of Hawaii.
