REFERRAL DAY MAY 26, 2006

On May 26, 2006 the Landes family got to see the most beautiful little girl in the whole wide world. Li Li Qun, Miss Talicee was born into our hearts. What a great day. I never knew how much joy she would bring to this all boy family. I had a book made about our journey to China and her adoption. I am going to start reading this to her today. I hope by the time she real understands it, she will see that adopting her was the best thing we have ever done.
Our family was changed forever that day. I still feel the nerveousness every time I think about the first time I saw her. A child that did not have a mother or a father was going to be our child from clear across the world. Sometimes I have a hard time processing this process. I think about her birthmother at this time also. I always want her to know that this little girl is loved more than any child could be.
Many things have changed since this day 2 years ago. Her brothers love her so much. Sometimes I forget that I did not give birth to her. She is such a joy. In July, it will be 2 years since Miss Talicee was placed in our arms. She is now 2 1/2 years old. Two years ago we just saw a very chubby little girl not knowing that she would turn out to be such a sweet little girl.

Updates on Miss Talicee:

She is now 2 1/2 going on 22. She talks all of the time. I just don't mean a few words. She will carry on a conversation with you. She has a mouth full of teeth. It took us long enough to get them. LOL She is now passed walking to running everywhere. Walking took us a while to get to also. But all of my kids were late walkers. She will tell her brothers that she loves them. The I Love Yous come freely now and out of the blue. She loves to cuddle. She is a grazer. She eats all day long. So when it is time to set down as a family for dinner, we have a little bit of a challenge with her. She is getting better at sitting in her princess chair and waiting on us to finish our dinner. Did I mention that she is a princess. From her clothes to her toys. Everything is centered around being a princess. She can count to 20, knows her ABC's, her shapes and her colors. She loves to play games on color and shapes. She will write until all of the ink is out of the pen. She is a very dainty little girl. We are still wearing 18/24 months. She had a skirt on the other day and it was a 12 month and too big. So we may have a little problem finding clothes that fit her. Of course, my sister will never let that happen. The boxes keep coming.
She is very independent. Everything is I can do it myself. We went to the pool yesterday and she would get in and out of her ladybug float all by herself. Miss Talicee has been trying to use the potty. One day she wants to do it, then another day she does not. Since the weather is warmer and we don't have to wear so many clothes, we are going to be working on this during the summer. She is becoming such a big girl. She loves to pick out her clothes and her hair bows that match them. She always asked, moma does this bow match my outfit. The girl has a mind for fashion.
I am so thankful that I followed what God had told me to do about adopting a little girl. My children are the best thing that has ever happened to me. Miss Talicee is just the perferct child for our family. She balances us out. She also keeps her brothers in line. Glad we have another female to take care of that in the house. LOL

I cannot believe it has been two years. Where has the time gone? I loved reading the update on Miss T and she sounds like such a cute little princess. Happy 2year anniversary on seeing your sweet baby's picture. I still remember that day too. (2 days before I left for China!)

What a great post! Glad to hear all the happy updates, too!

I laughed out loud at the skirt falling down comment - we've had that for years with my LadyBug. She did NOT get that from my side of the family :)

By the way, I've always wondered: where did you get the name Talicee and what does it mean?!
